OBJECTIVES: (Autonomy)
- Ask for captioning at the movie theater
- Ask your teacher to turn on captions during a lecture
- Ask for a copy of the captioning script for later reference
- How is captioning introduced to the whole class? Sensitivity towards the students’ preferences.
- Would you request a captioning service for class/doctor’s appointment ahead of the event?
ACTIVITIES IDEAS & MATERIALS
Setting up stations with different options to explore CC possibilities
Explore the different captioning options (CPRINT, CART)
Experiment with Google Voice and other transcription apps
Use a program to caption a YouTube video that you made
Use a matrix to evaluate different captioning options
Activity: Comparison Experiment with and without captioning.
(e.g. watch a cartoon video with and without caption to rate what was easier)
