OBJECTIVES: (Competency)

 

  • Do you understand when peers ask or answer questions during class?
  • Can you easily follow class discussions?
  • How is understanding during partner or small group work?
  • How is understanding student presentations?
  • Do you/your teacher make use of a pass microphone?
  • Do you understand multimedia presentations (DVDs, computer)

OBJECTIVES: (Relatedness)

 

  • Do you think that other students also have difficulty understanding other kids in the class?
  • What would you want your peers to know that would help you with your communication?

OBJECTIVES: (Autonomy)

 

  • What could you do if you don’t understand?  (e.g. ask for repetition) 
  • What would motivate or prompt you to take action? (e.g. worry about missing material that may be on an exam)
  • Do you feel comfortable expressing your communication needs to your peers?
  • Do you move your body to facilitate understanding?
  • Do you move your seating location to optimize communication?
